Staff Updates

Cohort Teams

Cohorts can now be restricted to only users that have certain team permissions. This might be used to keep campus or program specific users from seeing information that is outside of the cohort they manage. Restricted information includes: students, finances, classes, and communications.

To restrict a cohort to a specific team:

Create a Cohort team: Staff Menu > Users > Staff Teams. (This team does not necessarily need to have permissions configured, as staff users may belong to several teams. For example, a finance user can belong to the "Finance" team and "1st Year 21-22" team. Their functional permissions are given by the "Finance" team, but the "1st Year 21-22" team allows them to view the restricted cohort.)

Add staff users to the Cohort Team.

Go to the configuration page for the Cohort you are wanting to restrict: Staff Menu > Admissions > Cohorts/School Years/Campus > Settings (gear icon).

Check the " Restrict Viewing Permissions" box in the Viewing Permissions Field, and add the Cohort team.

Interview Slots Specific to Cohort

Now, when an interview time slot is created, staff users will select which cohort(s) / school year(s) the time slot is visible to. This can be used to prevent applicants of certain cohorts from scheduling interviews with staff users who do not manage that cohort. Example: A music instructor's interview schedule can only be visible to applicants of the Music Intensive Cohort. 

Create New Student

Staff users can now directly create new student accounts. Student accounts are created by adding a first name, last name, and email address. Then select which cohort and status the account will have upon creation. 

It is important to note that all students (regardless of their starting status), will need to go through the default admissions process for the school year you are adding them to. It is recommended that new users be given the status of Applicant, unless you do not have an admissions process for the school year they are being added to. 

Duplicated Cohorts - Include Automations

Previously, when duplicating a cohort/school year, staff users needed to update each automation by adding the new cohort / school year to it. Now, the automations that are associated with the original cohort are automatically updated to include the new cohort.

Bug Fixes

Automated Fees

This fix addresses an issue where certain automated fees were not being applied.

Address in Email Footer

This fix includes the School's City in the address line in email footers. 

Breadcrumb Issues

Certain breadcrumbs were taking staff users to unintended pages. 

Shared Classes Display Issue

This release address an issue where a shared class would be shown multiple times on the Classes page if the filter was selecting multiple school years that the class was shared between.
