User Permissions

The following permissions can be given to staff users by enabling them from the Staff User page.

Descriptions

Permission Description
Active Storage Attachment (Not currently in use)
Admission Process    
View | Edit | Delete
  • The View permissions allows a user to view the admission processes for applicants. (This is because an applicant profile shows you which step of the admission process they are on.) 
  • The Edit permission gives a user the ability to edit an admission process.
  • The Delete permission allows a user to delete an admission process (if unused.)
Agreement Document View | Edit
  • The View permissions allows a user to view the list of agreement documents.  
  • The Edit permission gives a user the ability to view details and edit an agreement document  
API Access  Access
Enables the user accounts API Key.  Located on a staff users' profile page.
Assignment View | Edit | Delete
  • The View permissions allows a user to view assignments.  
  • The Edit permission allows a user to edit assignments . 
  • The Delete permission allows a user to delete an assignment (if unused in the system).
Attendance Record (Not currently in use)
Automations View | Edit | Delete
  • The View permissions allows a user to view the list of Automations. 
  • The Edit allows a user to edit and create new Automations. 
  • The Delete permission is not currently in use.
Balance Import  See Finance Permissions
Bulk Action 
ViewEdit
  • Allows a user complete bulk actions (Email Student, Add Tag, Remove Tag). Both View and Edit must be used together
Change Student Statuses Edit 
  • The Edit permission allows a user to change a student's status.
Change Student's Cohorts Edit 
  • The Edit permission allows a user to change a student's cohort.
Cohorts View | Edit | Delete | Duplicate
  • The View permission enables the Cohorts page under the Admissions Menu, and allows a user to view all cohorts.
  • The Edit permission allows a user to edit existing and create new cohorts.
  • The Delete permission allows a user to delete a cohort (if no students are linked to it).
  • The Duplicate permission allows a user to duplicate a cohort. 
Course View | Edit | Delete 
  • The View permission allows a user to view courses, course times, course attendance, students enrolled in a course, and the content library.
  • The Edit permission allows a user to edit courses and edit attendance from the Manual Attendance Page
  • The Delete permission allows a user to delete a course (if not currently in use).
Course Catalog  View | Edit  
  • The View permission allows a user to view the course catalogs.
  • The Edit permission allows a user to edit and create new course catalogs.
Credit Card Processor  See Finance Permissions

Custom Field (Align Staff Only)  View | Edit | Delete 
  • The View permission is not used alone at this time. 
  • The Edit permission (when used with the View permission) allows a user to add and edit custom fields under the Align Menu. 
  • The Delete permission is not currently in use.

Discussions View | Edit | Delete 
    The  View permission gives a user access to the My Discussions and Discussions page where discussions are found.
    The   Edit permission allows a user to edit a Discussion step.
    The   Delete permission allows a user to delete a Discussion (if not yet completed by a student.)

Holiday View | Edit | Delete 
  • The View permission enables the Holiday menu, and allows a user to view holidays.
  • The Edit permission allows a user to edit and create new holidays.
  • The Delete permission is not currently in use. 
Homework  View | Edit | Delete 
  • The View permission allows a user to view homework that has been assigned to a student
  • The Edit permission allows a user access the homework details, engage in a private discussion with the student about their homework, and edit answers if necessary.
  • The Delete permission is not currently in use. 
Integration Apps (Align Staff Only)  View | Edit  
  • The View permission allows a Align Staff user to view the integrations list.
  • The Edit permission allows a Align Staff user to view integration details and edit them.
Interview  View | Edit | Delete | Enter Notes

Interview Time Slot  View | Edit | Delete | Duplicate
  • The View permission gives a user access to the My Interview Schedule page, where they can view scheduled interviews, and available time slots.
  • The Edit permission allows a user access add new time slots.
  • The Delete permission allows a user to delete their time slots. 
  • The Duplicate permission is not currently in use.
Lessons View | Edit | Delete 
  • The View permission allows a user to view the lessons in a course. 
  • The Edit permission allows a user to edit and create a new lesson and lesson steps. 
  • The Delete permission is not currently functional. You cannot delete lessons at this time. 
Messages View
  • The View permission (when used with Sent Emails Permission) allows a user to see the Sent Emails page under 'School Admin', and in the Student Menu
Messages / Announcements  View | Edit 
  • The View permission allows a user access to the Mass Messaging page and the ability to view sent messages and announcements. 
  • The Edit permission allows a user to create new and send messages and announcements. 
Messagings View | Edit | Toggle Read | Toggle Trashed
(Not currently in use)
Mimic Mimic Staff | Mimic Student
  • Mimic Staff: Allows a user to mimic another staff member, letting them experience the system as if they were logged in as that staff member. This option becomes available from the Users page. *Note that a user with lesser permissions can mimic another user with greater permissions, and have the same access as that user. Be careful when allowing staff users to mimic other staff members. 
  • Mimic Student: Allows a user to mimic a student, letting them experience the system as if they were logged in as that student. This option becomes available when viewing a student's profile by clicking the mimic icon in the student's information bar.  
Notes  View | Edit | Delete 
  • The View permission gives a user the ability to view student notes
  • The Edit permission gives a user the ability to add a student note.
  • The Delete permission is not currently functional. You cannot delete student notes at this time. 
Notifications View | Edit | Delete

Partners

  • View: Gives access to the Partner Links page where they can view and copy a Partner Link
  • Edit: Allows a user to edit existing and create new Partner Links. 
  • Delete: permission allows a user to delete a partner link.

  • View: Gives access to the Promo Codes page where they can view current and past promotions
  • Edit: Allows users the ability to create new and edit existing promotions.

  • When used in tandem with the Edit permission, the View permission allows a user access to their saved views.

  • The View permission (when used with Messages Permission) allows a user to see the Sent Emails page under 'School Admin', and in the Student Menu.
Staffs

  • The View permission allows a user to view the Staff User page.
  • The Edit permission allows a user to edit existing, and create new staff users (including permissions)
  • The Delete permission is not currently used.
  • The Permissions permission is not currently used. 
Statuses  (Align Staff Only)

  • The View permission gives a Align Staff User access to the system statuses page. This permission also gives access to the status settings where new statuses can be created.   
  • The Edit permission allows a user to edit the title of existing statuses types, and create new status types.
  • The Delete permission allows a user to delete a status.

Students  View | Edit | Delete | Download
  • The View permission allows visibility of student lists, and only the profiles of students
  • The Edit permission gives a user access to the Information dropdown in the student menu, and allows them to edit student information.
  • The Delete permission is currently a Align Staff only permission.
  • The Download permission allows a user to download a student list.
Support Enabled Enabling this allows a user to contact Align Support through the Help Beacon
Surveys      View | Edit | Delete | Manager
  • The View permission gives a user the ability to view question surveys (admissions and assignments)
  • The Edit permission gives a user the ability edit and add / delete questions in a survey.
  • The Delete permission is not currently in use.
  • The Manager permission is not currently in use
Tags View | Edit | Delete 
  • The View permission gives a user access to the Tags page in the Setup Menu.   
  • The Edit permission allows a user to edit existing, and create new tags.
  • The Delete permission allows a user to delete a tag (if unused). 
Team  View | Edit | Delete 
  • The View permission enables the Staff Teams page under the Users Menu, and allows users to view the staff teams.   
  • The Edit permission allows a user to edit existing team permissions, and create new staff teams. 
  • The Delete permission is not currently in use. 
Transaction Categories See Finance Permissions
Transcript View | Edit | Delete 
  • The View permission allows a user to view a student's transcript, in the Student Menu.
  • The Edit permission allows a user to create a new transcript item.
  • The Delete permission is not currently in use.
